This year, I decided to make a 2015 Bucket List containing all the things I would like to achieve that would truly mean something to me. I wanted to challenge myself, push outside my comfort zone and truly grow as a person. I wanted to be more spontaneous, try new and exciting things and push my limits like never before. One of these challenges was to complete my first ever Half Marathon.

As a child and teenager I was HOPELESS at sport. Always struggling to get passed a "C" grade and barely managing a 1.6km run fitness test. In my early twenties I got into the gym and there begun a transformation which has evolved into a deep passion for health and fitness. After a very tragic event in my family several years ago I decided to lace up my running shoes for the first time and start running as a means of coping with all that I was facing. I was warned it would become an addiction, and they were right. My first 5km fun run quickly turned into an 8km run, then a 10km and then rapidly into a 15.5km.....

Now I want to go that one step further, and that's where you come in...

I don't want this run to just be "my first ever half marathon" and an item that gets crossed off my bucket list. I want to go one further. I want it to truly mean something, not just to me but to lots of other people too. For this reason I am joining forces with the Cancer Council of Victoria and "I Will for Cancer" fundraising campaign.

Cancer is a leading cause of death in Victoria with 11,000 deaths every year. I Will for Cancer gives you the opportunity to change this statistic.

Their mission is to reduce the impact of all cancer for all Victorians through research, prevention, support and advocacy, funding research in medical institutions, hospitals and Universities across the state.
