On June 4, my gorgeous, brave and funny powerhouse of a friend Emelie could not fight the painful battle with cancer any longer. She was 31 years old and had so much more to give, do and be in this world. Especially for her little son and her husband.

Nothing can give us Emelie back again, but we can make sure that the quest for cures of cancer continues across the globe. So that mums and dads get to see their children grow up. So that husbands, wives and partners get to grow old together.

I was not planning to run the Melbourne half marathon again, but I decided that this year I'll be running for Emelie and her legacy. For the energetic, smiling, beautiful and opinionated person she was. For all the people out there who have had their families hurt, damaged and pulled apart by cancer. I'd really appreciate your support in this quest with any donation you feel that you can make (big or small) to the Kids with Cancer Foundation.

My aim is to get as close as I can to my personal best time for a half marathon (1h 44min). The more donations we raise together, the faster I'll attempt to run.
