Melbourne Marathon-Team Fitzys
Story
This year, Team Fitzys is taking part in the 2015 Melbourne Marathon Festival, and hoping to raise so money at the same time.
Michael will be sweating it out and doing his best to complete the Half-Marathon, a 21km gruelling course through the streets of Melbourne and ending back at the MCG. It's been an impressive training routine, and will be an amazing run on the day.
Jan won't be running quite as far, electing to do the 5.7km (we're calling it an Eighth-Marathon :) ) reflecting the level of running done in the past 5-10 years (virtually zero!). But there'll still be that amazing final lap at the G, which will be very exciting!
To help give us a goal as we run, we've decided to do some fundraising, and would love it if you could support us as we run for Australia Alopecia Areata Foundation Inc.(http://www.aaaf.org.au/)
About 18 months ago our beautiful niece Eva was diagnosed with alopecia areata at the age of 8, and lost all of her hair. This hasn't stopped her zest for life, as she continues to play netball, go to the footy and generally just do all the things any young girl does (including having a guest appearance on the KIIS breakfast program recently to talk about alopecia!).
However it's not the easiest thing for a young girl to live with, and we’d really appreciate your support in raising funds for AAAF. These funds will be used to support research for all forms of Alopecia Areata and to support those with the disease and their families.
We hope you'll help support this cause, and us as we take part in this amazing event!

Australia Alopecia Areata Foundation Inc. (AAAF), is established to be the national Australia body supporting research to find a cure or acceptable treatment for all forms of Alopecia Areata, support those with the disease and their families, and inform the public about all forms of Alopecia Areata.
Our Service philosophy is to give each person the best chance of managing their alopecia journey positively, the whole family and each individual needs to be supported to manage their unique experience. By reducing the financial and emotional stress and enabling children, young people, adults and their support networks to develop their strengths and skills, AAAF assists the whole family to achieve that positive journey.
