Story
Challenge time again!! This time, I'm taking part in the 2015 Melbourne Marathon Festival and hoping to raise further much needed funds for charity!!
I am setting myself another challenge to complete the 10km Melbourne Marathon in October to raise funds for the GI Cancer Institute in honour of my brave Dad. Late last year, my fit and healthy Dad was diagnosed with an aggressive form of Pancreatic Cancer. By the time it had been identified, it had already spread and was deemed inoperable. Due to the lack of research into such forms of cancer, survival rates have not changed in almost 40 years. Pancreatic cancer has the highest mortality of all major cancers, yet so little funding and research is dedicated to early detection and treatment options.
This is dedicated to the strongest and most positive man that I know, who is not letting anything defeat him and who keeps pushing hard every week with a smile on his handsome face. He is an inspiration to all who know him and to all who are watching him fight this.
Your help in raising funds for a cause that is so close to my heart will be much appreciated.

Gastro-Intestinal (GI) cancer is the most common form of cancer claiming a devastating 51 lives each day. At the GI Cancer Institute, our vision is to create a world free from GI cancers. It is thanks to the support of the community that we are able to fund vital clinical trials research to improve quality of life and treatment options for GI cancer patients.
