Story
I NEED YOUR HELP - Due to the success of my first Melbourne Marathon, having proudly completed the gruelling 42.195kms course in 4hrs and 8 minutes, I am back training hard to do it all again! My motivation this time round is to raise money for a very special organisation - Gateway Community Services.
Gateway is a not-for-profit community-based organisation catering for a broad range of community members living in the Western Suburbs of Melbourne. Gateway has a very diverse range of services including social support, emergency food relief, volunteer recruitment, training and community education programs, CALD engagement programs and disability respite. Gateway also manages the Hobsons Bay Community Register and assists up to 1000 people weekly.
I have set my goal this year is to raise $2,000 that will go directly towards the customisation of a new community bus for the elderly.
With only a couple months to go, I ask all my family and friends to get behind me and support this wonderful community initiative.

Gateway is in desperate need of help to reduce the social isolation of seniors and people with disabilities living in the western suburbs of Melbourne.
Largely reliant on pensions and unable to afford taxis or to travel independently, these community members are often left at home, alone and forgotten. Tragically, it can be impossible for them to get out and experience the same active, social and fullfilling lives we all take for granted.Gateway Community Transport Services’ volunteers and staff collect over 250 members per week from their own homes and transport them to various activities within the local community, dropping them safely back home afterwards.
With the generous support of our community we aim to raise $60,000 to purchase a new minibus to keep up with an ever increasing demand.
