Run to Eliminate
Story
What if you could protect a child from a painful death simply by running?

Every year, 60,000 babies die from Maternal and Neonatal Tetanus (MNT). That’s one baby every 11 minutes. But they don’t need to. A vaccine costing just $2 delivered to a woman of child bearing age will protect her and her unborn children from MNT.
What does MNT do?
For babies in the third world countries where MNT is still a danger, contracting MNT is virtually a life sentence. Death is agonising. Tiny newborns suffer repeated, painful convulsions and extreme sensitivity to light and touch. This sensitivity means they cannot find comfort in the arms of their mother. She must watch on, helpless, as tetanus takes hold.
Who suffers from MNT?
MNT is caused when tetanus spores, found in soil everywhere, come into contact with open cuts during childbirth. The disease strikes the poorest of the poor, the geographically hard to reach and those without health care.
How can you help?
Two simple ways you can help
1) Make a donation. Every $2 donated will purchase vaccinations that will protect a Mother and her unborn children from the threat of MNT
2) Join us and help us 'Run to Eliminate'. Click on 'Join Team' and get involved.
